Use the Four Collage Techniques to in your Photo Montage:

  • Juxtaposition/fragmentation
  • Point of View
  • Scale Change
  • Overlapping

  1. Begin by looking through the Beijing, Alaska and Maine Students' work and download images to a folder on your desktop that appeal to you. Be sure to use Beijing's "Village" photos and unusual shots from Alaska, so that the "Clash" will be obvious.

  2. Find several images; it's better to have many, you may not use some.

  3. Look through your photos and find ones that you think would be interesting to combine with the ones from the Alaskan and Beijing students.

  4. Think about which one you want to use as a background image.

  5. Using selection, cropping, erasing, cloning and other editing tools in Photoshop, combine your images to create a "Culture Clash".
